GCT-101 Tours depart every Monday, although the clients can join these tours on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday by taking part in the Seoul arrangements they miss, at the end of the tour.

In Seoul, the clients can choose the hotel from the deluxe(5 star), the first(4 star) and the moderate (3 star) category and in the local cities, the clients will stay at the same hotels in the first (4 star) category.

Day 01 : Arrival in Seoul (Monday)

Arrive at Incheon International Airport, where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel by the airport limousine bus or by the van. The rest of day is free at your leisure time.

When you arrive in Seoul on some other days with the pre-extension or the post-extension bookings (the earlier arrival or the later arrival), the arrival transfer is not provided. When you have the pre-extension bookings at the hotel(s), please take an airport limousine bus or take a taxi to the hotel . The airport limousine buses are available to the hotel(s) every 20-25 minutes, from 05:00 am until 21:00 pm

Day 02 Seoul City (Tuesday) B. L.

After breakfast, start a city tour of Seoul including Deoksu Palace (on Wed.~Mon. replaced with Gyeongbok Palace & National Folk Museum), Changdeok Palace, Drive by The Blue House, Jogyesa Temple, South Gate Open Market, Insadong Shopping Street.

Day 03  Seoul / Korean Folk Village / Seoul (Wednesday) B.

Breakfast at hotel. Morning free. At highnoon, transfer to the Korean Folk Village outside of Seoul to the south, where the old traditional style houses and life styles of the 18th ~19th century are being practiced. Return to Seoul

The Korean Folk Village is a showplace of the Korea's traditional folklore customs and ways of living. Located near Suwon City, 40 km to the south of Seoul, the village was opened in 1974 and comprises approximately two hundred and thirty structures, each representing the traditional customs and manners. In these structures, the visitors witness the unique scenes of people in the ancient costumes living and working in exactly the same manners as in the past before the country came under the western influence.

Day 04 DMZ & the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel – Gyeongju (Thursday) B. L.

After breakfast, drive to the DMZ. Tour of DMZ. Transfer to Gyeongju City. North Korea’s 3rd Infiltration Tunnel is located within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and is located 44 km away from Seoul to the northwest, found in October, 1978, and 30,000 armed military forces with the field artillery can permeate through this tunnel per one hour. Dora Observation Platform is located at a western front line and from here you can get a view of the North Korean territory including the Propaganda Village, People's School and Gaeseong City, the old capital city of the Goryeo Kingdom.

Day 05  Gyeongju City / Busan City (Friday) B.L.

Breakfast at hotel. Tour of Gyeongju including Cheomseongdae Astronmical Observatory, Royal Tumuli Park. Gyeongju National Museum, Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto Temple. Proceeed to Busan City.

The richest repository of ancient history and arts in Korea, the city of Gyeongju was once the splendid capital of the Shilla Kingdom (B.C. 57-A.D. 935). Gyeongju is filled with the remains of the ancient Shilla Kingdom’s temples, the royal tombs, the monuments, one of the earliest astronomical observatories in Asia- Cheomseongdae, built in 647 A.D., and the crumbled remains of the palaces and the fortresses. There is a branch (Gyeongju National Museum) of the National Museum Korea in the downtown where thousands of the items are exhibited. The two supreme treasures of Gyeongju are the Bulguksa Temple and the Seokguram Grotto, Being called "The Museum Without Walls". Gyeongju has been designated by UNESCO as one of the world's ten historic sites, and the Bulguksa Temple and the Seokguram Grotto were added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1995.

Day 06  Busan City (Saturday) B.L.

After breakfast, Tour of Busan Tower, Jagalchi Fishery Market, Nampodong Shopping Street, UN Cemetry, Busan Municipal Museum, Busan Haeundae Beach.

Busan is the second largest city and the principal port of Korea. It is located on the southern part of the peninsula with more than 4 million inhabitants, it being geographically an excellent natural harbor. Busan has been an important trade center for fishing and some other industries for a long time. The major attractions of Busan are UN Memorial Cemetery, Busan Tower and Jagalchi Fishery Market and Haeundae Beach.

Day 07 Busan City / Haeinsa Temple / Daegu (Sunday) B.L.

After breakfast, transfer to Mt. Gayasan National Park. Visit Haeinsa Temple. Haeinsa Temple has the world-famous Korean cultural treasure called “Tripikata Koreana”, which was made during the Goryeo Kingdom to protect the country from the invasion of the Mongolian army troops, with the help of the Buddha’s power. This Tripitaka Koreana has been designated by UNESCO as the World Heritage. Proceed to Daegu City for the accommodations

Haeinsa Temple was first built in 802 A.D. during the reign of King Aejang of the Shilla Dynasty. It is certainly one of the most beautiful temples in Korea and the one to visit even if time is quite limited. All the visitors will awe even the mountainous scenery alone. Haeinsa Temple has preserved over 80,000 wooden printing blocks of the Buddhist scripture which took 15 years for the scluptors to carve. These blocks are designated as a National Treasure No. 32 and the four structures housing these blocks are designated as a National Treasure No. 52. The 80,000 wooden printing blocks were added to the UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1995.

Day 08 Daegu/Andong / Chungju (Monday) B.L.

After breakfast, proceed to Andong. Andong is the best preserved village with its traditional style houses. In 1999, Queen Elisabeth II from UK visited the Hahoe Village and was welcomed with the Birthday Party Table decorated in the Korean traditional way. The Hahoe Village in Andong is famous for its unique mask dancing performance. Proceed to Chungju Lake.

Day 09 Chungju / Mt.Seorak (Tuesday) B. L.

After breakfast, take the cruise boat for the lakeside scenery in Chiungju Lake. (In the winter time, the cruise boat tours could be cancelled when the lake is frozen and replaced with the vicinity coach tours.) Proceed to Mt. Seorak. This morning,, drive to Chungjuho Lake, enjoying the cruise boat and visit Cheongpung Cultural Properties Complex - located by the Chungjuho Lake. This complex has reconstructed the beauty of Cheongpung, a village that became submerged after the construction of Chungju Dam. It took three years to relocate the buildings and structures in the current site.

Day 10 Mt. Seorak Tours –Seoul (Wednesday) B.L.

After breakfast, Tour of Shinheungsa Temple, take the cable car to Gwonkeumseong Fortress, Return Seoul via Gangneung City, visiting Chamsori Gramophone & Audio Museum. This museum boasts of the incredible collection of the 19th century’s gramophones and the 1st generation audio systems.

Mt. Seorak, the northern stretch of Korea's eastern coast which is rugged and mountainous with breath-taking scenery makes it called “The Alps of Asia".

Day 11 Seoul / Deoksan – Onyang (Thursday)  B.L.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Deoksan, tours of Deoksan Provincial Park, Sudeoksa Temple, Transfer to Onyang City, Tours of Onyang Folk Museum.

Day 12  Onyang – Gongju –Buyeo - Jeonju (Friday)  B.L.

Breakfast at the hotel Transfer to Gongju City, tours of King Muryeong’s Tomb, Gongju National Museum, Gongju Fortress and transfer to Buyeo City, tours of Buyeo National Museum and Nakhwaam Bluff. Transfer to Jeonju City

GONGJU
Gongju was the second capital of the Baekje Kingdom established in 475 A.D. and there are still many of Baekje treasures in evidence. Among them, King Muryeong's Tomb is the most famous. That Paleolithic man lived near Gongju about 20,000-30,000 years ago and the fact is evidenced at a cave site in the vicinity. The tools, weapons, and some other artifacts unearthed are similar to the objects found in Manchuria and the lake Baikal region.

BUYEO
Buyeo was the last capital of the Baekje Kingdom and is rich in the regends. There are many remains, too, dating back to the kingdom's final struggle period against the armed forces of the Shilla Kingdom and its ally, Dang China in 660 A.D. A steep hill in Buyeo city center is the site of the Busosanseong Fortress where the Baekje Army Troops made their last battle. Nakhwaam Bluff, "The Rock of Falling Flowers" is on top of the fortified hill. From here, a pavilion looks out over the Baekmagang River down the hill. According to the behind history, over 3,000 flower-like ladies of the Baekje Royal Court jumped into the river, having committed the mass suicide rather than yielding themselves to the invading conquerors. The Buyeo National Museum was reopened on August 6, 1993. The new building has a display space of 2,116㎡, which is three times as large as the old one.

Day 13  Jeonju – Byeonsan Peninsula – Mokpo City (Saturday)  B.L.

Breakfast at the hotel, Tour of Jeonju Hanok Village,Tour of Byunsan Peninsula (Chaeseokgang Sea-Side Cliff) and Naesosa Temple, Drive along West Coastline to Mokpo City.

Jeonju Hanok Village with a number of the traditional housing style is located in the city of Jeonju and overlaps Pungnam-dong and Gyo-dong villages. There are over 800 traditional Korean houses called “Hanok Houses”. While the rest of city has been quite industrialized, The Hanok Village has not been changed much and still retains its old traditions.

Day 14  Mokpo – Haenam Island (Bogildo Island) – Boseong Tea Plantation (Sunday)  B. L.

Breakfast at the hotel Transfer to Haenam Island (Bogildo Island) and tours of DDangkkeut Village(the edge-located village on the Korean Pennisula) and transfer to Boseong and tours of Boseong Tea Plantation

Boseong, the largest tea-growing area in Korea is known as the birthplace of Korea’s tea industry, it accounting for 40% portion of the domestic tea production. Visit the beautiful “The Tea Terrace” located on the hill, enjoying some hot tea and tea ice cream.

Day 15  Boseong –Suncheon – Jinju City (Monday)  B. L.

Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Suncheon, tours of Nakahn Folklore Village, Songgwangsa Temple and transfer to Jinju City, tours of Jinju Fortress and Jinju Museum

Continue to Suncheon. En route, visit Nakahn Folklore Village.- This Folklore Village is surrounded by the fortress which was constructed in the 15th century during the Joseon Dynasty. This Folklore Village was formed in 1980s. Within the east, the south and the west of the fortress, about 100 families still reside and the fortress area has been very well preserved.

Day 16  Jinju –Geoje Island – Busan City – Jeju Island (Tuesday)  B. L.

Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Geoje Island, tour of Geoje P.O.W (Prisoner Of War) Museum and cruise boat to Oedo Botanical Garden,Transfer to Busan Airport, Fly to Jeju Island

Transfer to the Jangseungpo Pier to take a boat for Haegeumgang –A part of Hallyeo Waterway Park to Oedo Island (the Botanical Garden). The botanical gardens on Oedo Island are the fruits of labor of one Korean couple with a dream to make a paradise. With a land area stretching over 132 square kilometers, there are approximately 3,000 kinds of plants.. No other gardens in Korea can match the splendor of the ones found here.

Day 17  Jeju Island (Wednesday)  B. L.

Breakfast at hotel. Whole day tour of Manjang Cave, Seongsan Sunrise Peak, Cheonjiyon Waterfall and the Jeju Folklore Village.

JEJUDO ISLAND
Korea's only Island Province has a population of over 500,000 and covers an area of approximately 1,800 square kilometers, it comprising 34 minor islands around. This island is located 60 miles off the southern port of the Korean Peninsula.. Jejudo Island enjoys a subtropical climate with the mild weather year-round. The plants and landscapes are entirely distinct from those of the mainland and some are quite unique. Jejudo's principal peak is Mt. Hallasan, it being the highest peak in South Korea (6,397 feet) and the volcanic cone was last active in 1007 A.D.
